OC Queen Street has joined forces with Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star), the Singapore government agency heavily involved in bio-medical and engineering technology, to help the country’s cutting edge technology business grow and attract new business.
OC Queen Street, Osborne Clarke’s associated Singapore practice, recently started working with A*Star’s commercialisation arm Exploit Technologies Pte Ltd (ETPL), to offer legal clinics for businesses receiving support and funding from ETPL.
The collaboration with A*Star and ETPL gives the OC Queen Street team the opportunity to demonstrate its expertise to a highly innovative group of early-stage businesses and entrepreneurs.
As part of this collaboration, OC Queen Street lawyers meet with A*Star’s start-ups three times per month to provide general advice and guidance on a wide range of legal issues including the business structure of the start-ups, licensing arrangements, intellectual property rights and obligations as well as other general contractual queries.
Founding Partner and Director at OC Queen Street, Chia Ling Koh commented: 'This is a very exciting opportunity for our team to make a meaningful contribution to the growth of A*Star start-ups and the broader technology and science community in Singapore.'
The legal clinic started at the beginning of February and will run until the end of the year.
