Olswang Paris shut out of CMS tie-up

Sources close to the matters report that Olswang’s office in Paris is expected to disband by the end of this year after having not been invited to negotiate a merger with CMS’ own office in the French capital, according to an exlusive report by industry publication The Lawyer. The office’s 16 fee-earners and two other staff have been reportedly relocated to a temporary office space as Olswang’s presence in the city prepares to wind down. The fate of Olswang’s six other offices outside the United Kingdom is not yet known, though its five-partner Munich office has reportedly been discussing a potential tie-up with California-headquartered firm Cooley.
