The office will be staffed by a newly-hired six-lawyer team – including four partners – which will be led by Christopher Torwegge, former head of legal of Hamburg-based trade and production group CREMER.Joining Mr Torwegge is partner Norbert Aust, former consultant and president of Hamburg University of Economics and Political Sciences, as well as former White & Case lawyer David Plitt and Isabella Niklas, who was at boutique firm WKN, reports Top Legal International.

'Closed shop'

In a statement, Osborne Clarke's German managing partner, Stefan Rizor, commented: ‘The Hamburg legal market has traditionally been a closed shop, and given that around 10,000 companies have relocated to the city recently, year on year, some new competition is long overdue. The firm now has 34 partners active in Germany across its three offices in Cologne, Munich and now Hamburg.
