Launching in January, the new three-partner office will be Bowmans’ third in East Africa and its seventh on the African continent, adding to existing teams in South Africa, Madagascar, Kenya and Uganda. The firm’s Tanzania practice will focus on serving corporates, financial institutions and the public sector organisations that are investing of have operations in the country. South Africa partner Chris Green will be relocating to Tanzania for the launch, while local partner Wilbert Kapinga will be heading the new office. Mr Kapinga commented: ‘Dar es Salaam is increasingly attractive to foreign investors. Tanzania has a fast-growing economy with a GDP forecast to grow around 7 per cent in 2016 and 2017. The calibre and experience of our local team, plus having Chris with us to boost our capability, will allow us to better service some of the largest national and international corporates operating in this region.’
