Panel round-up

Online sales giant Amazon is shuffling its pack of European external advisors to create its first European law firm panel.

Amazon: close to delivering new panel

The move comes after the appointment of general counsel David Zapolsky who is overseeing it from the company’s Seattle office.
The Lawyer magazine names current law firm advisors in Europe as including CMS Cameron McKenna, Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF), Olswang, Osborne Clarke and US firm Edwards Wildman.

Delay

Meanwhile, Lloyds Banking Group has held up a review of its own customer-pay panel according to The Lawyer, leaving a number of law firms in the dark.
Having told firms the process would begin in January, the lender has now changed to March at best.
With the process taking up to four months, firms look set to have to wait until the summer to see if they are on the panel. Lloyds has so far declined to comment on the delay.

External advisers

Elsewhere, Hogan Lovells and Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) have both won new spots on Land Securities' legal panel, following a review of the property company's external advisers.
Legal Week reports that Hogan Lovells joins a number of Land Securities' existing advisers on the newly created ‘A' panel, which comprises Berwin Leighton Paisner, Eversheds, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Nabarro.
HSF has been appointed to the ‘B’ panel alongside Dundas & Wilson.
