UK law firm Pinsent Masons has opened in Paris this week, having hired the legal team from an accountancy firm. The firm recruited a nine partner team of lawyers from Marccus Partners, the legal arm of accountancy firm Mazars.
The second continental European office for Pinsents following its launch in Germany earlier in the year, the new office will offer a range of services including corporate, M&A, commercial, restructuring, finance, real estate, IT/IP, employment, litigation and arbitration.
Senior partner Chris Mullen said he was delighted to be opening the new office. “Opening in France has always been a key step in our international growth. Not only is it Germany's major trading partner, France is also a conduit for investment in north and sub-Sahara Africa from the EU, China and the Gulf.”He added that it was central to the firm’s global sector approach and would put them in a “strong position to capture more in and outbound work across Europe and provides a key link with our clients in the Gulf and Asia."
Dr. Christoph Maurer, the new head of the office said that by “ being part of an integrated international firm, we are able to provide our clients with a wealth of marketing leading advice and support in France, Europe and worldwide."
