Public consulted on legal aid in California

Members of the public have been asked to consider serving on a task force run by the State Bar of California to discuss the provision of civil legal aid to lower and middle-income Californians.

Both lawyers and the public will take part. Public hearings are being organised for spring and summer to get views and study options being pursued in other states and abroad.  Luis Rodriquez, President of the State Bar, said: 'Ensuring that all Californians have access to justice is critical to the Bar’s mission of public protection.'
