Singapore: Reed Smith latest to move in

The office will be headed by Gautam Bhattacharyya, who will relocate from London. New partners Barry Stimpson and Simon Sloane (joining from Holman Fenwick Willan) as well as Philip Antcliffe (joining from Citigroup), and an additional lawyer from the firm’s London office will also relocate and the firm is in the process of adding several associates in the local market.

Business activity

‘Singapore is emerging as one of the most important business centers in the world.’ said Reed Smith’s global managing partner Greg Jordan. ‘It is a natural place for Reed Smith, as one of the top firms for commodity trading and shipping.’
According to a press release, one of the main factors in the Singapore move is the growing business activity of Reed Smith’s major institutional clients, in the energy and natural resources.
‘We’re excited to follow the lead of our clients in the region and continue our strategic drive into key sectors,’ said Roger Parker, Reed Smith’s managing partner for Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
