The Saudi Justice Ministry has granted licenses to 20 women lawyers to practice law. The Ministry has also granted 10 women trainee lawyer licenses. Majed Garoub, a member of the ministry’s department of lawyers told Makkah Daily that the department did not differentiate between men and women when granting licenses to practice law and that an increasing number of women lawyers were applying for licenses. He said that the department had earlier given licenses to four Saudi women who were allowed to handle all types of cases before the judges. Source: SaudiGazette.com
