Squire Patton Boggs to enter top 25 in June merger

The 1,600-lawyer new law firm of Squire Patton Boggs is hoping to be seen as the 'go-to firm for public policy work', according to Jim Maiwurm, chair and global chief executive of Squire Sanders.

It will have a network of offices in 21 countries. The merger - which was delayed by problems over Patton Boggs’ involvement in the problematic Ecuadorian litigation against Chevron - will transform the Squire Sanders brand, according to law firm consultant Peter Zeughaus.
