A Swedish group of lawyers have set up a venture to tackle online bullying. Headed up by Stockholm University civil law professor Marten Schultz, the team will take on internet trolls and pursue them. The Law and Internet Institute, which acts for victims on a pro bono basis, is particularly looking for trolls using slander or making threats online.
The team will send bully claims seeking damages using Sweden’s Civil Code instead of criminal law and have one success to date where a troll paid damages for his behavior. Source: The Local
