Switzerland: duty free shopping

Three leading firms bagged roles in a $1.3 billion private equity deal that has seen investor Silver Lake and investment management firm Partners Group agree to purchase Swiss duty-free shopping company Global Blue.

The Am Law Daily reports that London magic circle firm Clifford Chance, New York-based Weil Gotshal & Manges and Chicago-headquartered Baker & McKenzie are all involved in the deal.
Weil London corporate partner Mark Soundy is advising Silver Lake on the acquisition, CC London private equity head David Walker is advising Equistone – which acquired Global Blue from Apax Partners in 2007 for around $450m – on the sale, while Bakers corporate partner David Allen, also in London, is leading the firm’s team as counsel to Global Blue’s management.
