The innovation uses technology from third party provider DocuSign that enables the signatories to a document to access it securely over the internet and insert their signature in the appropriate place. It could put an end to the time consuming process of printing, signing and scanning multiple documents and removes the need for the physical presence of those required to sign.
Positive feedback
Linklaters has used the technology in four separate deals to date and plans to roll it out more widely. The firms says that client feedback has been positive, both in terms of the speedier and more convenient alternative to traditional methods the technology provides and in relation to the security if affords, with an audit trail that captures who signed what, when and where for every transaction.
