The Global Legal Post has launched the next in its series of online interactive workshops which focuses on getting the most out of LinkedIn.

How to make LinkedIn work for you and your firm, to be held on 10 March, will be led by Simon Marshall, founder of law firm marketing agency TBD Marketing.

Research by TBD Marketing has found that while all law firms engage with the LinkedIn social media platform – especially since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic –  few are making the most out of its potential to build brand awareness, engage with existing clients and build new relationships.

Only one quarter of senior and managing partners shared a post in December 2020 and yet every post by a law firm leader on LinkedIn gets an average of more than 4,000 views. Furthermore, while senior partners share more often than managing partners, managing partners get more audience attention when they post.

Marshall said: “It’s been really interesting to see quite how much people’s use of LinkedIn has changed this year. There’s a much greater awareness that it’s not just a recruitment tool – but also a great place to share and test ideas, to have a dialogue, to market consistently over time and to grasp real life opportunities to work with clients. The question for people in the legal sector is ‘are you ready  to use LinkedIn to make your marketing goals happen in 2021?’”

The practical one-day workshop will use the Zoom platform to facilitate an interactive experience with plenty of debate. It will explore how to use LinkedIn as a communications, marketing and sales tool – and how to measure the success of all three activities. It will look at the dos and don’ts of setting up profiles and there will be an exploration of the future of the main social media platforms.

Delegates will learn about the power of questions on LinkedIn, how to use testimonials and how to use LinkedIn analytics to improve posts.
