TLT adds eight-partner team from BDB Pitmans

Infrastructure-focused team joins in London

A group of eight partners are defecting from BDB Pitmans to join TLT in London.

The group’s practices focus on infrastructure projects, including planning, public law and authorisation, among other areas.

Its members are Sarah Clark, Nick Evans, Tom Henderson, Mustafa Latif-Aramesh, Richard Marsh, Duncan O’Connor, James Ross and Angus Walker.

John Wood, managing partner at TLT, commented: “We can confirm that eight partners currently at BDB Pitmans have agreed to join TLT.

“Each of their decisions to join TLT is a testament to our reputation in the future energy, infrastructure and government sectors and highlights how culture, ambition and growth make TLT a firm that talent wants to join.”

The hires follow TLT bringing in record revenue of £174m in the 11 months to 31 March 2024, a 12% increase on the year before on an annualised basis. The 500-lawyer firm attributed the performance to making significant partner hires and expanding its national office network, including its Birmingham office launch – its seventh overall.

The incoming group will significantly expand TLT’s projects, infrastructure and construction group, which currently houses six partners and 11 associates and legal directors.

Clark specialises in infrastructure planning, while Evans has more than 20 years’ experience advising on public law, the promotion of major infrastructure projects and related planning and environmental law issues.

Henderson helps promoters obtain consent for complex infrastructure projects, Latif-Aramesh advises on infrastructure planning, public law, legislative drafting and advising on parliamentary procedure and Marsh specialises in planning law and the authorisation of major infrastructure and commercial projects.

Meantime O’Connor secures authorisation for major infrastructure projects, particularly in the transport and energy sectors, and Walker acts for clients to promote or oppose applications for development consent orders for significant infrastructure projects under the Planning Act 2008.

The team is rounded out by Ross, a real estate lawyer who acts for investors, property companies, developers, banks and funds in connection with their acquisitions, disposals and development of all real estate classes.
