Sue Morgan, head of legal at Australia-based Sigma Pharmaceuticals, said Twitter was ‘fantastic’, at the Tonkin General Counsel Summit in Sydney last week.
‘Contrary to popular belief, I do not tweet about going to the bathroom,’ Ms Morgan added. ‘And if people do tweet about that, you can choose not to follow them.’
According to a report in Australian publication Lawyers Weekly, Ms Morgan said the threat of legal issues arising from using social media should not cause in-house lawyers to dismiss the idea altogether.
Ms Morgan said: ‘It is not really who uses it anymore, it is who doesn’t use it.’
