Los Angeles-based Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and New York players Shearman & Sterling and Proskauer Rose all posted significant gains, according to Legal Week today.
Revenue growth
Gibson Dunn registered a significant rise in revenue, up almost 11 per cent from 2011 figures at $1.29 billion. PEP also jumped nearly 14 per cent, reaching $2.81 million.
Proskauer Rose saw a 7 per cent jump in revenue, taking 2011’s total of $686m to $736m. PEP also leapt up 9 per cent, reaching $1.85m.
Although Shearman’s global revenue remained relatively flat, the firm’s London office recorded its fourth consecutive year of revenue growth, increasing by 3 per cent to $112.6m on the back of 2011 revenue of $109.2m.
Online results
Pittsburgh-based law firm K&L Gates broke with convention earlier this week when it posted its 2012 financial results online, partly in response to the collapse of New York firm Dewey & LeBoeuf.The post showed that the firm experienced mainly flat revenue since 2011, with a reduction in lawyers from 1,910 to 1,748 despite the opening of two new offices.
