Sydney: TwoBirds lands cooperation deal

Under the agreement, the firms will jointly market their services to clients. This will enable Truman Hoyle to access Bird & Bird’s other international offices and relationships while Bird & Bird can tap into Truman Hoyle’s expertise as part of its global offering.

Shared strength

The firms share strength in key sectors such as technology, telecommunications and media. Bird & Bird already has offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore. It also has close relationships with other firms in the Asia-Pacific region.
Bird & Bird CEO David Kerr commented: ‘There is a clear cultural fit and capability match between Bird & Bird and Truman Hoyle. Both firms pride themselves on legal expertise, deep industry understanding and a creative approach and we are deeply impressed by the calibre of both the lawyers and clients at Truman Hoyle.’

International reputation

Shane Barber, managing partner of Truman Hoyle, added: ‘Bird & Bird has an impressive international reputation and an approach that really resonates for our lawyers and our clients. It has a demonstrated commitment to grow the firm to meet the increasingly international needs of clients operating in the new economy.’
The news comes just weeks after Bird & Bird announced it is to merge with Danish firm Bender von Haller Dragsted after a cooperation agreement lasting 18 months.
