US firm Butler Snow builds Asia presence

Mississippi-headquartered Butler Snow has announced it is opening its first office in Asia in Singapore and a virtual office in Hong Kong.

The Singapore office will concentrate on delivering US tax and estate planning advice to ultra-high net worth families and family-controlled businesses. Key markets include Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines, where the firm has established clients.

Kurt G. Rademacher will lead the office. He and London-based partner Brad F. Westerfield recently spearheaded Butler Snow’s expansion into Europe with the opening of the firm’s London office.

Full-service Hong Kong office to follow

‘We selected Singapore because it is a leading financial hub, has a business-friendly environment and offers a strong legal framework,’ said Mr Rademacher. ‘Hong Kong is also an important market for Butler Snow – we are looking to establish a long-term presence in this market soon. Singapore will serve as a regional office with a full-service Hong Kong office to follow.’ Source: Butler Snow
