Van Bael & Bellis has promoted Andreas Reindl and Gabriele Coppo to its partnership. The new partners are based in Brussels and expand the firm’s EU Competition and International Trade teams. Mr Reindl focuses on all aspects of European competition law advising Fortune 500 companies and well-known multinationals in high profile mergers as well as complex investigations before the European Commission and national competition authorities. In recent years he has worked on high profile matters such as Halliburton/Baker Hughes, Deutsche Börse/London Stock Exchange and 3M/Scott Safety. He also advises the International Skating Union in its appeal against the Commission ISU decision and has advised a number of well-known clients on strategic distribution and pricing issues.

International trade

The firm has also focused on its trade and customs law department by promoting Gabriele Coppo who joined the firm in 2008 and specialises in EU and international trade and customs law, as well as Italian and EU competition law. He also advises clients on other EU law matters, including free movement of goods and services and regulatory law, with particular expertise in the auto industry and has broad experience in litigation before the Italian and EU courts.

Expansion

The firm’s international trade team now includes nine partners and five counsel in its Brussels and Geneva offices.
