Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz has recruited former Facebook general counsel Ted Ullyot to build a new policy and regulatory affairs group. The company, which has invested in technology companies such as Facebook and BuzzFeed, has set up the unit to help start-ups in heavily regulated industries. The company is looking to form relationships with lawmakers for its portfolio companies. Mr Ullyot told Bloomberg that the job was not lobbying per se. 'The idea is to make sure the lines of communication are open,' whether dealing with lawmakers in Sacramento, Brussels or Washington.' Source: Bloomberg
