The trio - Joz Coetzer, Johan de Lange and Craig Whitley - are all due to arrive in early 2014, adding strength to the banking and project and finance teams. Mr de Lange joins from Webber Wentzel where he ran the banking and finance group. The other two are coming over from the banking and banking finance teams of Bowman Gilfillan.

Fundamental to strategy

White & Case chairman Hugh Verrier is quoted in Bloomberg Businessweek as saying: 'A strong Johannesburg office is fundamental to our strategy in Africa. The addition of these senior partners in Johannesburg underscores our commitment to our clients in South Africa, as well as the increasing number of multinationals and financial institutions doing business in the region.'
